After out trek to the summit of Kilimanjaro in 2003 we went on a safari to Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. From there we flew, passing the magnificent Kilimanjaro, rising like Olympus above the Serengeti, to Stone Town, Zanzibar. The photos capture a specific moment in time as a group of friends from Newfoundland trekked to the top of Africa in a once-in-a-lifetime trip. As we traveled, I kept a journal of each day.
